Special Education Assessments
Local education agencies throughout the United States are challenged with providing free and appropriate education for students with disabilities. The Individuals with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and No Child Left Behind federal legislation ensure that students with disabilities participate in the general course of study and that school systems are held accountable for their improved educational performance. Federal legislation further grants the right to deliver special education services within the least restrictive environment.
MGT understands the administration and legal requirements that pertain to public and nonpublic schools providing special education, including state licensing, necessary communication with the community regarding programs, and resources available through your state Department of Education.
Because we have been working with local education agencies around the nation for 30 years, MGT can assist your agency in conducting performance and audit reviews of special education service delivery. We have a comprehensive working knowledge of federal legislation related to special education. Furthermore, with respect to evaluating special education programs, our project team has extensive experience in conducting in-depth special education reviews of curricula, federal/state compliance standards, budget, facilities, transportation, and other related programs and operations.
